Quad employees, government officials and community leaders gather at Quad MKE.

Showcasing Quad’s MKE Recruiting and Training Hub

"Quad MKE unveils a new Milwaukee hub, fostering community engagement and career opportunities with diverse partnerships." 

Quad MKE invited community leaders, government officials, strategic partners and internal team members to an open house promoting our company’s new central city Milwaukee recruiting and training hub. Quad leaders pulled back the curtain to showcase the progress we have made to engage the community and introduce family-sustaining career opportunities to individuals in the area. 

During the event representatives from neighboring businesses networked with Quad team members and Business Resource Group (BRG) leaders, and a number of Quad’s community partners, including Running Rebels, The BrandLab Milwaukee, SHARP Literacy and JobWorks MKE. This mix of key players highlighted the scale of Quad’s efforts with the Milwaukee community and demonstrated the unified goal among Quad, government officials and local business leaders to strengthen resources within the community. 

“[These partners] have been instrumental over the last few years in kicking our efforts up several notches to attract talented people and develop the skillsets that we need,” lauded Joel during the event, noting that as a result of these partnerships, our employee base is growing to better reflect the demographics of our community, our clients and the consumers that they serve. 

The new office is a cornerstone of our efforts to engage local talent. Just a few blocks from Melvina Park, a community space that Quad is working to revitalize, our recruiting and training hub is located in Milwaukee’s near north side, in the Century City Tower and is equipped to support recruiting, onboarding and training. 

Quad’s presence in Milwaukee supports our growth as a marketing experience company and is a crucial milestone in our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy. Since opening the Quad MKE doors, we have hired more than one hundred community members to begin their careers at Quad. Each week roughly 40 manufacturing, manufacturing support and admin employees use Quad MKE transportation to carry out essential work at our Sussex, Hartford and Lomira facilities. 

As an example of the success we have had recruiting talent from central city Milwaukee, Joel highlighted how we recruited Roy Rogers to our manufacturing facility in Hartford, Wis. in 2021.  Roy, a local resident who lives just seven minutes from the Quad MKE location, quickly advanced into his current administrative role as a data processing specialist on our Postal Solutions team.  Roy is also one of the first faces that new employees see when they show up for orientation. He was recognized not just for his contributions to Quad, but also for his incredible character and story. 

Joel also spoke to his hopes for Quad MKE and the community in the future, “I want to attract other big companies to do something similar.”

Joel spoke on the importance of culture in attracting and keeping top talent. He questioned, “How can they feel the culture if we are not in their communities?”

Lafayette Crump, Commissioner of City Development for the City of Milwaukee, spoke about growing up in the area and the importance of bringing back good jobs. He thanked Quad for helping to bring the community’s vibrancy back.

Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development Secretary-designee Amy Pechacek applauded Quad for its commitment to overcoming barriers to employment, such as child care and transportation, and specifically highlighted Quad’s history of utilizing the Registered Apprenticeship program to grow and develop early talent.

Quad leaders tasked Quad MKE Site Director Brandon Ramey with making the office space reflect the excitement generated by Quad’s presence in Milwaukee. Brandon worked with local artists to develop murals that introduce Quad as a growing presence in the community. Above is a mural created by Reggie Baylor, titled Typeface Two, created through SHARP Literacy’s Art for All program. Artist Vedale Hill’s work is visible behind Joel and the other speakers.
