QuadMed is looking for a Senior Business Intel Engineer to join our corporate team. This is a remote opportunity.
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
This role requires strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and the ability to build trust and respect with colleagues, IT leadership, and business stakeholders as a BI process and technical advisor.
The BI Engineer Sr plays a key role in team and departmental development, providing mentorship and guidance while ensuring the efficient delivery of business value. This position sets the technical direction for teams and collaborates with stakeholders to break down complex challenges into minimum viable products.
Key responsibilities include partnering with Software Development teams and QuadMed business areas to develop Business Intelligence solutions such as data warehouses, reporting, dashboards, OLAP, and other analytical tools that support business analysis and strategic planning.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops and maintains efficient SQL queries and stored procedures for ETL processes.
- Designs and implements scalable data models to support business intelligence and analytics needs.
- Utilizes Power Platforms (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate) to create interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements, translating them into technical solutions.
- Performs data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive business performance improvements.
- Presents findings and recommendations to leadership in a clear, data-driven manner.
- Stays current with BI technologies, methodologies, and techniques, continuously improving expertise in data presentation, data modeling, and OLAP.
- Manages administrative functions for data warehouse toolsets, including SSIS, SSAS, Power BI, and Epic reporting tools such as Workbench, Slicer Dicer, Radar, Record Viewer, and Dashboard.
- Applies comprehensive healthcare claims knowledge, ensuring data integrity when importing medical and prescription claims data, including mapping, scrubbing, and verification.
- Leverages healthcare expertise in ambulatory settings, providing accurate patient care data, supporting outpatient procedures, and ensuring adherence to clinical guidelines.
- Develops an advanced understanding of business operations and processes relevant to the Business Intelligence product stack.
- Acts as a technical advisor, driving execution, facilitation, and defining technologies used in initiatives.
- Fosters a culture of collaboration, mentorship, and coaching, providing technical guidance to junior team members.
- Establishes and refine team standards and processes, incorporating industry best practices and stakeholder feedback.
- Takes ownership of delivering high-quality, data-driven solutions that provide tangible business value.
- Engages in inclusive activities related to people, processes, and technology to enhance team effectiveness and innovation.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Math, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum eight (8) years of Software Development, BI Development, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum three (3) years of work in healthcare, preferably in an ambulatory setting.
- Proficiency in BI tools such as Power BI and SQL.
- Proven experience in data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Experience with cloud platforms is a plus.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Epic Cogito and Caboodle or Clarity Data Model certification.
