Mechanical & Facility Engineer

This position will play a critical role in supporting both product development and facility engineering functions. The Mechanical & Facility Engineer will work on various printing equipment projects while also managing engineering activities related to capital improvements, maintenance, energy efficiency, and facility operations. This role requires expertise in research, development, design, testing, analysis, system integration, and facility infrastructure support.
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical Engineering Responsibilities:
- Product/component part design and development
- Utilize 3D CAD software (Creo preferred) for mechanical designs
- Perform engineering calculations and analysis to ensure design compliance
- Provide engineering support to manufacturing and field service teams
- Assist in project management and documentation of engineering activities
- Facility Engineering Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, and coordinate engineering activities for capital projects, maintenance, and renovations
- Prepare cost estimates, project schedules, and oversee implementation
- Work with internal teams and external contractors to develop engineering designs and ensure compliance with industry standards
- Assist with troubleshooting building systems, including HVAC, fire protection, power distribution, LPA, HPA, chill, steam/condensate, wastewater treatment, vacuum, and air conveyance systems
- Conduct detailed inspections to ensure project quality and compliance with best practices and regulations (OSHA, NFPA, IBC)
- Analyze production and utility processes to optimize efficiency and minimize costs
- Maintain project files, track budgets, and ensure timely project completion
- Utilize Lean methodology in managing projects and facility resources
Job Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or related field
- Some prior engineering experience or internship preferred, but not required
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Creo preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Project preferred
- Ability to read schematics and drawings, and troubleshoot mechanical/electrical systems
- Familiarity with automation, construction, and Lean methodology is a plus
Other Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license for interplant travel
- Travel required up to 25%
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to self-check and review work for quality assurance
- Adaptability to various roles as projects demand
