SUMMARY:   

Quad Chalfont, PA is looking for experienced First Assistant Operators. This role ensures effective press operation including safety, make-ready, quality, production, training, and maintenance.  Utilizes all ISO procedures, and maintains required paperwork relating to press operation.  Communicates professionally with all internal and external customers. This position directly helps Quad drive profitability by reducing the cost of errors through consistent work quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reads and understands Job Binder, Press Instructions, Formatted sample, templates, and Make-ready Checklist.
• Performs Departmental Preventative Maintenance on press equipment as assigned.
• Responsible for the safe and effective operation of assigned press equipment.
• Performs Quality Checks on products.
• Provides training and direction to newly hired or promoted press crewmembers.
• Assists Press Operator in maintaining production standards
• Follows all established safety procedures and guidelines.
• Maintains job-related records and inputs production into Quad systems as required.
• Manages self-development
• Actively participates in safety programs, follows safety policies and procedures and maintains a safe work environment.
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS (Specific knowledge, skills, education, and abilities):

• 2-3 years of Print or Bindery experience
• Knowledge of Converting and inkjet equipment helpful 
• Strong mechanical aptitude
